On the Margins Family Therapy & Psychological Services, Inc. was founded in 2019 by Dr. Daniela Dominguez (Danny), a Queer Latina from Mexico with a deep commitment to liberation psychology, abolition, and antiracism. As a healthcare practitioner, Danny witnessed firsthand how oppressive practices, policies, and structures within healthcare systems failed to protect Queer, Trans, and BIPOC communities.
Driven by ideological ancestors, she founded the organization to create a space where individuals could heal through ancestral knowledge, cultural strategies, revolutionary love, and radical imagination.
The organization now boasts a strong leadership team and robust multidisciplinary staff dedicated to providing a safe and empowering space for individuals to heal, grow, and imagine new possibilities.
In 2023, On the Margins, Inc., a philanthropic non-profit entity (501C3), was established to deepen our social impact on the margins of society. On the Margins, Inc. and On the Margins Family Therapy & Psychological Services, Inc., two separate entities, leverage the strengths of both professionals corporations and non-profit sectors, creating a sustainable and synergistic approach to fulfilling their shared mission.

Rooted in abolition feminism, trauma-responsiveness, and antiracism, we operate under the guiding principle that "Nobody's free until everybody's free," a conviction deeply inspired by Fannie Lou Hamer's powerful freedom teachings. Our work boldly and politically amplifies community care, cultural wealth, and inherent resilience. Recognizing the ongoing assault on marginalized communities, we are committed to actively disrupting systems of oppression within academic, clinical, health, and political spaces.

We work with those looking to pay attention to and change, through bold and sustainable action, the structures and systems of power that contribute to the traumatic experiences and dehumanization of communities on the margins of society. OTM has partnered with other organizations to co-create conditions at the intersection of healing and liberation.
