¡DALE! was launched in 2021 to create conditions of empowerment for high school students who seek to address educational justice in their school. The program seeks to strengthen student skills, bring together leaders and community organizers who are committed to educational justice in our high schools, and co-create a pipeline of youth organizers and leaders in Sonoma County. ¡DALE! brings together leaders and community organizers who are committed to educational justice in Sonoma County’s high schools. The long-term vision of ¡DALE! is to co-create a pipeline of youth organizers and leaders in Sonoma County.

The HEAL program is a two-hour eight-session peer support program for high school students run by On the Margins in partnership with the Hanna Center and with funds from the Elevate Youth California. This program aims to engage in a collective generation of knowledge of what self and community care are, and to practice and disseminate healing strategies to high school youth. This is a space where high school students can learn how to be their fullest selves and experience wellness and connection. The HEAL curriculum aspires to equip the youth with the essential tools and insights for personal and collective healing and to empower them to become leaders in their communities and create a more just and equitable society.

Sanando y Empoderando Relaciones (SER) is a bilingual family-oriented group counseling program for middle and high school students and their families, led by On the Margins. The target population for this program is families from English as a Second Language (ESL) courses, individuals receiving services from Migrant Education Programs, English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) members, and other non-traditional high schools. This six-week training series aims to support identity development through understanding the impacts of trauma, help youth plan for healthy transitions and cultivate love, joy, hope and understanding across and among generations.

Radical Imagination Supported Through Exploration (RISE) is a bilingual family-oriented career counseling program for high school students. It is currently offered in Cloverdale and Roseland. This program addresses the lack of access to culturally responsive career counseling services for lower income and BIPOC identified high school students. This program aims to improve students’ awareness of their career interests, skills, personality traits, and their association, and to engage them with professional development seminars, workshops, and a career fair.

The program embraces culturally responsive approaches and is offered with age-appropriate activities. The program also includes their families into conversations to promote intergenerational connections during students’ career explorations.
